Police appeal following Hayes town centre assault

The Metropolitan police issued an appeal to members of the public today (12th Sept 2019) following an assault that took place in Hayes town centre. The incident happened Friday September 6th at 09.12 pm.

A witness to the attack who wished to remain anonymous said: “It was terrifying, there where loads of men chasing him , they hit him with something when he was on the floor. I thought that he was going to be murdered. Hayes town doesn’t feel safe anymore this kind of incident seems to happen more and more often”

In the appeal the Metropolitan police said:

We are aware of video footage circulating on social media of an assault that occurred in Hayes Town Centre on Friday, 6 September at 21:12 hours.

Officers from the West Area Command Unit are investigating and ask that if anyone has any information or footage in relation to this incident to contact police by dialling 101 and quoting reference 7954/06SEP19.
